Wardrobe Change

The glasses stay the same
they have have always been even before you.

I left the shirts inside a bag
where I once carried you piggyback.
You are heavy,
like the rain, where we shopped for pancakes
and sex with the sea crashing on the walls of the room.

I wore a polo shirt today.
Because I left the shirts with you –
You left me with it.

And I am relieved –
that the cloth, the collar, and the way it was folded
Did not even remember you.
